KCB ladies team are eyeing the 2018 Africa Club Championship ticket with a good domestic run. The Bankers who are second on the KVF log are gearing up for next month’s national playoffs with intense training sessions and high profile friendly matches.The team clashed this month in a 4 set thriller clash with Botswana national team. The friendly match was staged at Kasarani Arena last week.
KCB’s Doreen Marani fought hard in the third set to see the Bankers win the set by 26-24 during the early morning clash.Botswana captain Kelly Mahupela led her team to grab the first two sets at 25-22 and 25-22.
The team will play other friendlies this month ahead of the play offs eyeing the continental club championship ticket.
KCB head Coach Vernon Khayinga said the match was a learning point for the team as they head back to training after various strength and conditioning sessions for the last three weeks.
“KCB played quite well against a tough opponent, we will have improve on our blocks and attack ahead of the national playoffs” said Vernon.
His counterpart Kabo Ntshinogang from Botswana said KCB had better on the ground and great attacking style.
“The opponents played quite well, we had to keep on devising better ways to win each of the sets, KCB players are willing to sacrifice their all which is really important for any major win.
