Mombasa Jubilee leaders call on President Kenyatta to unify the country

Mombasa Jubilee grass root leaders are calling on President Uhuru Kenyatta to unify the country after the divisive repeat presidential election yesterday.

The leaders were Speaking in Mombasa after President Kenyatta was declared the winner of the October 26 repeat poll having garnered 98 per cent of the vote, a total of 7.4 million votes.

Led by Said Mathias they said it is time for Kenyans irrespective of their political inclinations to come together as one united people.

Mr. Mathias who vied for the Majengo/King’orani ward said the president should make a deliberate attempt to reach out to his competitors and unify the country.

He said President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have been given the opportunity to rule for the next five years and deliver on their promises.

‘President Kenyatta is the president of all Kenyans and as such should strive to heal the wounds inflicted by the competitive presidential campaigns since August’ he said.

He said Kenyans at this point in time are yearning for leaders who will bring them together for a common purpose of nation building.
