Nairobi; 17th November 2017 – The Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) held the 2017 edition of the MSK Awards to recognize and celebrate outstanding marketing professionals and their contribution to the cause of marketing. The purpose behind the award is inspiration as the awards offer an opportunity for outstanding teams to be brought forward and celebrated and in it serving to inspire the industry through their work.
His Excellency the Deputy Governor Nairobi County Polycarp Igathe who was the Chief Guest challenged marketers to engage the County Government on developing communication that builds the sentiments of the country and this for Nairobi County will make it a reality making Nairobi Beautiful, Prosperous and Safe.
Speaking during the launch of the awards, Maggie Ireri the Chairlady of the Marketing Society of Kenya said, “MSK is willing to sit in the county’s advisory team and to provide any support that may be required towards aiding marketing activities.”
She also highlighted one challenge marketers are facing with hope that the county government will be able to address which is high rates for licences for marketing activities.
Brookside Dairy was a big winner during the fete winning under the Best Product Launch category, Best Advertising campaign as well as Best Judges Choice award winner.
Proctor and Gamble won the Best Product Re-launch campaign and the Best Overall Marketing Award and Company Of The Year winner for 2017.
Other winners were Wrigley East Africa for Best Distribution Strategy and Implementation Award, Safaricom for Best Digital Marketing Award, Carlsberg for Best Experiential Marketing Award and Best Sales Promotion Award.
Isuzu East Africa emerged winner of Best Brand Loyalty Award, Mater Hospital for Best Sustainability Marketing Award, Coca Cola company was awarded Best Brand PR Award, Barclays Bank of Kenya won best Sports Marketing Award with KCB Group winning the Best Social Media Award.
