Nairobi, Kenya – 18 November
It was a victorious night for leading bookmaker SportPesa after it was feted for exemplary effort and creativity in sports marketing at the Marketing Society of Kenya Awards Gala.
The company picked up the 2nd Runners Up award for Best Sports Marketing Campaign in 2017, beating several other companies who had also made submissions for consideration.
“This is a very proud moment for us. It is a culmination of many months of hard work, sheer dedication and great team work from everyone at SportPesa,” said the company’s Chief Global Marketing Officer Joyce Kibe.
SportPesa won the award for the Tujiamini initiative, an integrated marketing campaign launched in October 2017 which calls on Kenyans to believe in the individual and collective power of sports to transform society and in turn, spur sports development in the country.
“Tujiamini is more than a marketing campaign for us at SportPesa – it has become a part of us. We are passionate about using sport to enhance people’s livelihoods and the socio-economic state of this and every country we operate in. By identifying, nurturing and growing local talent, and by tapping into the wealth of resources we have to do so, together we can take this country to unknown heights,” said Ms. Kibe about the initiative.
So far, the initiative has gained countrywide recognition as one of the most genuine efforts made by a Kenyan company to develop local talents and grow the Kenyan sports industry.
“We continue to make every effort to deliver true value for all our customers, partners and sporting fans within every market we operate in,” she added.
