Two Suspects Arraigned in Court For Illegal Possession Of Leopard Skin

Two elderly men have been arraigned before a Kibera court for being in illegal possession of two leopard skins with a street value of Ksh. 200, 000 each.

The two, who are in their 60s, were nabbed by Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers following intelligence reports.

Posing as buyers, the officers lured the suspects to deliver the contraband products to them at Nyayo stadium in Nairobi.

They were arrested as they offered to sell the two skins to the officers for a total of Ksh. 400,000.

They were charged with being in illegal possession of wildlife trophy contrary to section 95 of the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act.

The duo denied the charges and were released on a bond of half a million shillings each.
