KCB ladies won their league outing in Bomet county in a tense match played with Kenya Defence Forces on Friday 20th April 2018.
The KVF outing that served off in Bomet, saw the Bankers battle for victory in a game that lasted 114 minutes. KCB won 3-2 sets of 24 26, 25-22, 18- 25, 25-15 and 15-1. They took the fifth set in a record 15 minutes.
Pauline Nyongesa, Miligreen Lutuvula, and Phoca Kasisi were influential during today’s outing that saw newcomers Metrine Wabwile and Millicent Wanjala make major saves for the bankers. Meanwhile, KCB edged out Mombasa Ashton 3-0 during the second league game played at the same venue.
The team is full of confidence having gone unbeaten in all KVF League outings this season. Head coach Vernon Khayinga will make two changes in his squad during tomorrows in Lucy Mumo and Joyce Njeri as left attacker and libero respectively as the tournament kicks off.
“It is a tough contest between all the teams, we are focused on winning each game”, said Vernon.
KDF started the game with two quick attacks by Edna Rotich as the team used the match to test their key areas ahead of the World Military games. KCB responded with superb attacking style as well as backcourt defense to stem-out their attacks.
The team will be relying on captain Gladys Wairimu to steer them past their opponents and earn KCB major honors… The KVF Bomet outing serves off with a league outing today followed by two days of tournament action.
