KCB delighted with exemplary performance at Camp Toyoyo

The clash between KCB and Kibera Black stars staged at Camp Toyoyo on Wednesday 1st August afternoon saw the Bankers mastermind a superb 2-0 victory during the NSL clash with goals from Simon Munala and Denis Nganga.

The win leaves the Bankers 3rd on the National Super league standings as the race for KPL promotion heats up.

KCB Head Coach John Kamau was delighted with the team’s exemplary performance during the outing.

“I’m confident we can improve because we’ve done it before and I have confidence in the quality of the players, they did a superb job today”, said Kamau.

The match saw KCB FC keep their opponents hot on their heels as the match kicked off. Denis Ng’ang’a tested the opponent’s goalie with two kicks.  Owino tried a shot from the left flank but it went wide as the Bankers kept on pilling pressure on their opponents. Their efforts bore fruits when Simon Munala a goal on the 23rd minute.

Kibera couldn’t seem to get out of their half as the match got underway. Denis Nganga smashed a free kick but there was a good save from their goal keeper.

 KCB applied pressure from all angles in particular set pieces during the second half.  Simon Abuko Munala showed some good footwork to dance his way into the box, he had time and space and but the keeper thwarted his effort.

During the second half, Nganga netted a sublime free kick that saw the bankers extend the lead to 2-0 during the 63rd minute.

The Bankers could not have wished for a better game. They went for a win creating a plethora of chances in a thrilling and frantic clash. KCB will face Isibania at Awendo Stadium this weekend.
