DP Ruto in Republic of Congo for an official tour

Deputy President William Ruto today arrived in the Republic of Congo for an official tour.

Mr Ruto was received at the Maya – Maya International Airport and was received by Prime Minister Clement Mouamba.

The Deputy President’s tour is aimed at promoting cooperation between the two countries in various fields of interest.

During the tour, the Deputy President will lead Kenya’s delegation in signing a framework agreement for cooperation between Kenya and the Government of the Republic of Congo.

Kenya and the Republic of Congo will agree to cooperate in areas of interest including political consultations, economics, trade and investment, agriculture, science and technology, culture and arts.

Other areas include education, health, media and film and sports among other areas.

The two countries will undertake to promote business relations between public entities, private, non-governmental organizations, economic operators and researchers.

Kenya and the Republic of Congo will also encourage the promotion and maintenance of peace and international security in accordance with the purposes and principles of the charter of the United Nations.

Among those accompanying the Deputy President are Mining and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary John Munyes, Governors Kaiga Mutahi (Nyeri) and Granton Samboja (Taita Taveta) and Trade Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo.
