“Dream of an East African federation is still valid” Wiper Leader

Wiper Democratic Movement Leader Hon Kalonzo Musyoka is rooting for a stronger East African Community that will place the Community into the better bargaining position with the rest of the world.

The Wiper Leader says a dream of an East African federation is still valid , adding that there is need for more concerted efforts towards that realization.

“How I wish we could move and overcome the usual cobwebs and form the East African federation” said Kalonzo

Kalonzo made the remarks today while presiding over the graduation ceremony of  Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU)  where he is the Chancellor.

The Wiper Leader has at the same time encouraged Ugandans and the rest of East Africa to embrace dialogue and political tolerance just like Kenyan where political antagonists are now working together for the national good.

Kalonzo said when Uganda or any other partner state of the EAC is in political turmoil; it affects all of us in the region, which could adversely affect the investment opportunities for the larger East Africa.

“We decided to build bridges that is why today in Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Deputy President William Ruto and yours truly are working together to look at the best options for Kenya; so when Uganda gets bad publicity, and therefore investment opportunities are negatively affected, it affects all of us in East Africa.

On Matters education, the Wiper Leader has urged the graduands to emulate the virtual of servant Leadership in their daily life as they now enter the job market.

“Whatever field you choose, if you operate from the paradigm of service, I know your life will have more value and you will be happy. Use your job as a platform to serve others” said Kalonzo.

The occasion was also attended by the Minister for Science Technology and Innovation Hon. Erioda Tumwesigye, who said the Government will support the University in its endeavors because it has the potential to transform the innovation sector of the country.

“I believe UTAMU will play a big role in the innovation system in the country and therefore a big role in my Ministry” said Erioda.

Earlier the Wiper Leader and his delegation paid a courtesy call on President Yoweri Museveni in state House Entebbe where they discussed matters East African federation and also political stability.

“I got a chance to call on President Museveni at state house where we discussed in depth the issue of a strong East African Community which he truly believes in; I also thanked him for allowing Hon. Bobi Wine to come back home without let or hindrance ” said Kalonzo

The Wiper Leader is accompanied by Hon. Kennedy Musyoka of EALA and Deputy Secretary General of Wiper Party Hon. Peter Mathuki.
