KCB are looking to be in fine form as the close of the pre-season friendlies comes to an end marking the beginning of the Kenya Premier League.
The bankers who won their second friendly against their next door neighbours Nairobi Stima on Tuesday, were in good shape as the new signings are being introduced to Head Coach Frank Ouna’s game plan for the 2018-19 season that kicks off on December 8th.
The encounter was a challenging one, but one that the team always looked to seal the game. A cool penalty from KCB midfielder Shami Kibwana made it 2-1 and seal the game for the boys in green.
The second friendly was more challenging as it was against their KPL rivals Mathare United which ended goalless at the Goan Institute pitch on Wednesday. KCB seemed more controlled in the game, especially in defence. Coach Ouna praised his defence claiming that they were 100% efficient and he was happy with their performance. Offensively however, there is some work to be done ahead of their next friendly against fellow premier league opponents Posta Rangers at the Jamuhuri Showgrounds of November 30th.
New signings such as Jamal Mwambeleko who’s come in from Simba SC Tanzania, Bernard Mangoli in from Sofapaka and Mike Evans Kibwage in from AFC to name a few, are gelling in well their new teammates as they look to make an immediate impact when the league kicks off next weekend.
