The National Olympic Committee of Kenya this morning held a consultative meeting with Robert Lotwis of Nike.
The meeting initiated early discussions on the Kenyan Kit for Tokyo 2020.
This is to enable NOC-K have early preparations on all aspects of the next Olympic Games especially adequate and timely provision of the Athletes Kit.
Robert has assured NOCK of full support and engagement towards this preparation to ensure the process will be smooth and extremely beneficial to all the stakeholders.
NOC-K Committee led by the President, Dr. Paul Tergat informed Nike that the aspect of Kit is a critical element to the preparations and participation of our athletes and the Committee is committed to ensuring that this time Kenya shall be adequately kitted.
Among other items of discussion was a review of the 2018 provision and NOC-K expressed gratitude to NIKE that we were able to kit teams to the Commonwealth Games, African Youth Games and Youth Olympics.
Dr. Tergat updated Robert of Nike on the developments in NOC-K and the current ongoing digitisation of the stores to ensure that all stocks received are well accounted for and there is a complete product trail to the final stage of issuance to the athletes.
The meeting further discussed on the provisions of Kit for 2019 for the major Games which include the African Games, African Beach Games, World Beach Games and ANOCA Zone 5 Youth Games.
Robert expressed his satisfaction with the handling of Kit so far and hoped that this will be maintained and enhanced.
