Elders from Keiyo Community have endorsed the move by Eldoret businessman and former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial contestant Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich (Buzeki) to ditch the Jubilee party and join Chama Cha Mashinani.

Buzeki, who has been one of Deputy President William Ruto’s strongest allies, ditched Jubilee party last month citing frustration claims from people surrounding the DP.

The elders expressed their endorsement over the weekend during a blessing cum crowning ceremony of the businessman to take over the mantle of leading the community which fell vacant following the demise of the former KANU regime powerful minister Nicholas Biwott who was a Keiyo elder.

Buzeki lamented over what he claimed as discrimination based on ethnic lines being propagated by some leaders and members of parliament in Uasin Gishu County.

The exercise which took place at Kaptagat in Uasin Gishu was led by the chairman of the Keiyo Elders Yusuf Keitany who declared that they will fully support Buzeki as he seeks to wrestle for the Uasin Gishu governorship seat in 2022.
