The National Police Service (NPS) have announced plans to open a police station in all the wards in the country.

Inspector General of police Hilary Mutyambai said Monday that the establishment of police stations at the wards was part of police reforms that have been in plan. He announced that the reforms were already underway.

“Soon we will give details on what to do it, in two weeks time we will give full details on the implementation of this last phase,” the IG said.

He said a single police command will be set up at the grassroots so as to adequately address security challenges affecting the public and improve service delivery.

He said the stations at the ward level will work closely with the community policing units to fight criminal elements in the country.
“We promised to give the best policing serves in the new stations,” Mutyambai said.
