Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been released on a Sh15 million bail.

The court however barred him from accessing office until his case is concluded but instead also asked him to file a formal application for the court to allow him to access personal belongings in his office.

The governor and his wife have been charged over an irregular procurement of the Sh588 million tender for the upgrading of various gravel roads to bitumen standard.

Last week, Justice Mumbi Ngugi charged the county boss with economic crimes saying that Mr. Waititu should step aside and his role taken by the deputy until his case is concluded.
