Deputy President William Ruto has paid tribute to County Assemblies for their crucial role in making devolution thrive.
He said without the Assemblies, the country’s devolved systems would be in danger.
“The National Government recognises the central role of County Assemblies in ensuring the biggest achievement of our Constitution—devolution—is secured, promoted and succeeds,” he said.
He spoke when he launched the Second Edition of the County Assemblies Sports Association Games at The Eldoret National Polytechnic Grounds in Uasin Gishu County.
“The County Assembly sports brings all of us together, promotes our culture and eliminates borders. The coming together of County Assemblies is a testimony that our counties are not units of division but units of unity,” he added.
