The Building Bridges Initiative taskforce has concluded its report and will hand it over to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga next week.
Speaking today in Nairobi, BBI chairman Garisa Senator Yusuf Haji said that his team had already secured a meeting with the two leaders next Tuesday.
“It is now our privilege to inform the public that an appointment to hand the report to the President has been arranged for Tuesday November 26, 2019,” Mr Haji said.
Mr. Haji’s announcement comes after their mandate concluded on October 23rd and Kenyans have been waiting for the report to be released.
Last week, President Kenyatta told Mt. Kenya leaders that the report will be printed and distributed to Kenyans for them to read and understand it.
The taskforce was gazetted on May 24, 2018 following the March 8 unity agreement between President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga, popularly known as the Handshake, after a bitter political fallout during the August 2017 General Election.
