Meteorological Department warns of continued downpour

The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned that the country will continue experiencing heavy rainfall of up to 30mm raising fears of more devastation across the country.

The department warns that the most areas that will be affected include Western, South Eastern, Northwestern, Northeastern and central regions including Nairobi.
The rains are expected to continue and expected to reduce from Wednesday this week over several parts of Kenya.

“On the lookout for potential floods, they are also advised to avoid driving through, or walking in moving water or open fields and not to shelter under trees and near grilled windows to minimize exposure to lightning strikes,” states the alert,” a statement from the Meteorological Department reads.
