Lawyer Miguna Miguna should be allowed to enter the country, the High court has ruled. On Monday, the High Court issued a statement ordering the government officials to ensure Miguna is facilitated in his travel back to the country.
Immigration Department Director-General Alexander Muteshi said Mr. Miguna who was deported in 2018, over the swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga following a repeat Presidential election in which Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner will not be barred.
The Immigration Department says it will comply with a court order to facilitate the return of Miguna Miguna.
“This is to confirm that in compliance with court orders issued on December 14, 2018, the Directorate will facilitate Dr Miguna’s entry into Kenya,” Muteshi said.
Justice Weldon Korir issued the orders Monday, restraining Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi, Police chief Hillary Mutyambai, and others from interfering with Miguna’s return into the country, following his deportation.
