More than 70 hoteliers trained on Coronavirus vigilance in Nakuru

Over 70 hoteliers have been trained on the Coronavirus vigilance, prevention, and protection and surveillance measures.

The County Government of Nakuru has deployed Coronavirus surveillance officers in Nakuru East, Nakuru West, Naivasha, and Gilgil sub-counties which have the major hotels that host foreigners.

Speaking to the hoteliers at the sensitization meeting on Wednesday, Public Health Ag. Director Elizabeth Kiptoo said Kenya receives over 800,000 visitors from china yearly.

She urged the hoteliers to be on the lookout for guests with any suspected signs like fever, cough and any history of travel to or from the affected countries within 14 days prior to the onset of symptoms.

The Coronavirus is spread through coughing droplets and close unprotected contacts with infected persons or objects.
