CS Kagwe defends MPs on role in fighting COVID-19

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said Members of Parliament were actively working with his ministry in the fight against the coronavirus.

Speaking on monday during his daily briefs on the virus, Kagwe the virus had so far infected 208 people of which 40 had recovered and discharged.

However, he revealed that nine people have since succumbed to the disease while 40 others have been discharged from the hospital after recovering.

“We have had engagements, with the leadership of both the National Assembly and the Senate and the respective House committees and these engagements. Parliament has been active in the work that we are doing and they have contributed to the work that is currently going on,” he said.
