Government now bans travel into and out of Dadaab, Kakuma camps

The government has banned movement in and out of Kakuma and Dadaab refugee camps effective today as the government continues with measures aimed at containing the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was announced during a meeting by the National National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee (NDICC) on Tuesday, which met to discuss the progress of the Government’s interventions to combat COVID-19 in Kenya.

Kenya now has a total of 374 confirmed cases after 11 more people tested positive for the coronavirus disease with 10 others being discharged after fully recovering.

The government has said it will work closely with Governors to mitigate the effects of the virus and ensure vulnerable people receive the help they require.
