COVID-19 cases in Kenya now above 5000

Cases of coronavirus in Kenya have now surpassed the 5000 marks after 254 more patients tested positive bringing the total to 5,206.

The latest number comes after the Ministry of Health tested 4,859 samples.

Speaking at Afya House during the daily COVID-19 briefings Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said all the new patients are Kenyans and that 186 are males and 68 females.

The cases are distributed as follows; Nairobi (127), Mombasa (36), Migori (29), Kajiado (22), Kiambu (12), Busia (9), Uasin Gishu (5), Muranga (3), Machakos and Kilifi, (2), cases each, Nakuru, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Garissa, Isiolo, Kakamega, and Kisii, one (1) case each.
