The Building ridges Initiative report committee has sought an extension of its tenure to enable them to finalize the report before handing it to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to media reports, the committee is seeking an extra one month to enable them “iron out key issues on the report.”
The team’s mandate ends today and was expected to formally present the report to Mr. Kenyatta and his partner Mr. Raila Odinga.
Mr. Odinga is however still out of the country after he was flown out for medical attention – which his family confirmed saying it was successful.
The BBI team has been collecting views from Kenyans after the initial report was made public in November last year at the Bomas of Kenya, and retreated two weeks ago to start drafting its report.
