Senator Sakaja fined Sh. 15000 for flouting curfew rules

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja was on Tuesday fined Ksh.15, 000, or a 3-month jail term for flouting COVID-19 rules.

Mr. Sakaja appeared before the Kasarani open court, a day after he recorded a statement at the Kilimani police station.

He was charged with breaching curfew orders contrary.

On Saturday, Senator Sakaja was arrested at a bar in Kilimani alongside 10 other persons.

The Senator on Monday said he would take full responsibility for his actions.

“I was outside my house past 9 pm which is after curfew hours, it is regrettable but all of us make mistakes,” Sakaja said.
