Chaos rocked City Hall, Nairobi on Tuesday morning after a section of Nairobi Members of County Assembly (MCAs) attempted to eject Speaker Beatrice Elachi from her office.
The MCAs claimed they had collected 62 signatures and wanted to table a motion to impeach the speaker but were stopped by a contingent of police who repulsed them sparking chaos.
This comes amidst a raging conflict between the Nairobi County government and the newly created Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) headed by General Mohammed Abdalla Badi.
Last week, Governor Mike Sonko said the conflict was a result of the deed of transfer he signed at State House.
The Nairobi MCAs have kicked off a fresh bid to impeach Elachi over allegations of abuse of office, corruption, and poor leadership.
