Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has asked the National Government to make public a task force report on maize and implement the recommendations.
Governor Khaemba who was speaking yesterday when he officially launched a smallholder farmers programme Tuesday said that implementation of the recommendations will put to an end maize farmers’ woes.
According to Khaemba part of the recommendations included maize pricing and marketing that has a direct impact on the farming industry
“The report also touches on farm inputs and farmer credit that will boost maize production in the country,” the Governor revealed.
The task force was chaired by the then agriculture Cabinet Secretary (CS), Mwangi Kiunjuri with Khaemba and his Uasin Gishu counterpart, Jackson Mandago as members.
