Government orders teachers back to school

The Ministry of Education has instructed teachers both for Primary and Secondary schools to report to their expected schools from Monday, September 28th to prepare for reopening.

The Education Response Committee chaired by Sara Ruto of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) has however recommended that schools re-open in October.

But the Education Cabinet Secretary said the recommendations will be tabled will be reviewed by the government before the official date for the school’s re-opening will be given.

“It is not for me to give the date for the re-opening, I will table this report before a larger committee for a deliberation on the actual date for the resumption of schooling,” Prof. Magoha said.
