Anne Kananu Mwendwa has taken over the leadership of Nairobi County in an acting capacity from speaker Benson Mutura, a few days after she was sworn in as the Deputy Governor.
Speaking on Monday, Mwendwa revealed that plans are underway to officially swear her in as the Governor.
“We have the Assumption Committee that is working on the process. Once the process is done we will communicate,” she said.
She expressed confidence that she has what it takes to serve as Governor and that her main focus will be to deliver services to Nairobians.
“In partnership with the Nairobi City County Assembly, we shall embark on a public engagement that will invite views on the state of service delivery in the City and how to further improve the same,” added Ms. Mwenda.
