Body of missing lawyer found in Machakos

Bodies believed to belong to Missing lawyer Willie Kimani and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri have been found at a river in Ol-donyo Sabuk, Machakos County.


A third body believed to be that of Mr Josphat Mwendwa who was being represented by the lawyer was also found at the river.

According to Law society of Kenya advocate Mr Dan Kinuthia, the bodies had signs of physical injuries indicating that they may have been beaten.

On Friday, a court gave Police Inspector-General Joseph Boinett and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations an ultimatum to issue a report over the disappearance of the three.

The deceased were suspected to have been abducted by Administration Police officers after a court heard that they were seen entering Syokimau AP Camp before they disappeared on 23rd of June.

Lawyers have over the past week pushed to compel the government to disclose the whereabouts of Mr. Kimani, his client and the taxi driver.
