Several Die in Community Clash

Dozens of people are feared dead after fierce fighting between the Gabra and Borana communities in Moyale.

 

At least five people had been confirmed dead by Friday morning.

 

The two communities have been in conflict since November where dozens of people have been killed and scores injured.

The latest fighting started on Tuesday night when attackers raided Helu area, killed one person, injured a police reservist and burnt houses.

Local leaders are however accussing the government of laxity and failing to contain the situation and quell the inter-clan conflict between the Gabra and Boranas.
