Nakumatt opens yet another branch

Nakumatt Holdings massive expansion plans remains firmly on course with yet another branch opening its doors to customers today.

The unveiling of the Haile-Selassie branch is a watershed as the leading retailer’s stores hit the 29th mark in the East African region and the fifth score within the Nairobi’s Central Business District.

Others in city centre are Lifestyle, City Hall, Moi Avenue and Ronald Ngala branches.

The new shop, offering an all-inclusive shopping experience and products from A to Z, covers 30,000sq ft with ground and mezzanine floor and is located along the busy Haile-Selassie thoroughfare.

“The shop location is ideal for customers working along Harambee Avenue, the busy Times Tower area and Parliament Road. The new baby marks the 15th Nakumatt store in Nairobi thus enhancing our presence within the CBD as we stay on course of opening 30 branches by end of 2010, “said Mr Atul Shah the Nakumatt Holdings Managing Director.

Mr Shah explained that the expansion strategy initiated at the beginning of the year was now bearing fruits with plans to roll-out more branches in Kenya and across the borders.

He added, “Apart from opening new branches, Nakumatt has continued to support more households by creating more employment opportunities.”

Nakumatt Haile-Selassie is the last of the former Woolmatt shop to be opened within a period of two months.

In the recent past Nakumatt made major strides by opening four supermarkets Nairobi’s CBD area and a 24-hour hypermarket in Eldoret.
