Safaricom mobile subscriber, has launched an integral partnership with Equity bank, Kenya institute of education (KIE), Microsoft  and the teachers service commision9TSC),that will see teachers and employees of TSC have an opportunity to integrate technology into their day to day operations.

This is expected to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the execution of their duties of the teaching fraternity.

The laptops contains tailor made packages that will usher them into tech-society and make e-learning and e-education a reality in Kenya.Safaricom have had offers in the past that included giving away laptops and internet bundles making this offer an easy one for teachers since the internet being given is free of charge as compared to the past.

One of the problems that safaricom have been facing is cost. They have decided to take several steps to solve this problem one of them being negotiations with the manufacturers to come up with affordable internet enabled devices so as to enable many Kenyans as possible to be part of the internet revolution.

Equity bank is going to provide the necessary credit facility to allow members of the teaching fraternity to own a laptop. Global software Microsoft will make sure that the laptops that will be on sale at the 32 safaricom retail centers country wide have genuine software in them.

The work of the TSC will be to  mobilize its members to be on board and administer the loan  repayment process  while the Kenya institute of education will ensure the acquisition of these laptops makes a real difference in advancing Kenyans education curriculum as the laptops come loaded with full syllabus for both primary and secondary education and Intel will provide Intel teach application for self training  material

The teachers will have a package of 4 laptops that they will choose from, the Hp Compaq min110c which costs ksh2253 per month, the Samsung N150 which costs ksh2253 per month, the Acer Aspire 5734 which costs ksh2791 per month and Hp Compaq Presario CQ62-230ei which goes for 3061 per month.

The teachers were urged to take  this opportunity and join the ever changing world of technology and the internet.
