National Democratic Institute (NDI) Monday launched a manual for candidates seeking elective posts.
The manual will guide candidates in assessing their own strength and weaknesses, plan for both the pre and post-election periods, communicate effectively, operate with an elected institution and transform the lives of those they seek to serve.
Speaking during its launch at a Nairobi hotel, NDI Kenya Senior Resident Director Mary O’Hagan said that the manual is neither a magic word nor a list of all the things needed by those seeking leadership positions.
“It is rather a basic guide to help them through the campaign process,” said O’Hagan.
The unveiling of the election guide was attended by among others MPs Eseli Simiyu (Kimilili), Peter Munya (Tigania East), and Registrar of Political Parties Lucy Ndung’u.
Simiyu said the manual will equip candidates with the knowledge and skills needed in the run up to the next general elections.| < Prev | Next > |
