The government will resettle families evicted from Serengonik forest in Nandi East District, Nandi County.
Area DC Irene Ondeng' has said that a confirmation letter entailing names of evicted families had been written to the Ministry of Lands for consideration.
The DC who was speaking during the District Development Committee (DDC) meeting in Nandi Hills this weekend also reported that some relief food had been received by the District and was to be distributed to the evictees in the camping sites.
The DC added that Ndururo, Serengonik and Keben Primary schools where children of the evictees were schooling will also benefit from the aid.
She called on the Public Health Department in the District to organize for mobile clinics in the area saying sanitation in the camping sites of the evictees was very poor.
'The government is mindful of all aspects affecting the internally displaced persons and their wellbeing will no doubt be prioritized,' she said.
