Kenya Wins First Gold


Kenyan has scoped the first gold medal through Wlson Kiprop in the 10,000 metres.

The first day of the championships has seen Kenya open with a good footing with at least two medals in the event.

The two medals Gold and Bronze in the 10, 000M were won by Wlson Kiprop and Geofry Mutai respectively with the silver going to Uganda through Moses Ndiema Kipsiro. Another Kenyan Mathew Kisorio came forth.

The five day event will see over 44 countries fighting for the medals in the championships.

Kenya being the home of athletes and the host nations looks forward to coming first overall to clinch the continental title of the 17th edition of the championship.
