
Kenya's Lineth Chepkurui brought down the record of the TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race on Saturday in Cape Elizabeth, America underlining the fact she is season's best.
Chepkurui clocked 30:59 to take off 26 seconds off the course record and become the first woman to run a sub-31 minute 10K in the race.
Also in the race was Ethiopia's Wude Ayalew who despite falling to the second spot behind Chepkirui broke the previous course record 31:07 and led Kenyans Edna Kipligat and defending champion Irene Limika who were third and fourth.
In the men race, Ethiopia's Gebre Gebremariam clocked 27:40.4 to win the race and led a pack of Kenyans Alan Kiprono, Wilson Chebet, Stephen Kipkosgei ak Muge Ed who raided the second, third, fourth and fifth position respectively.
Three other Kenyans squeezed into the top 10 spots as Martin Lel coming seventh ahead of Cheboiywo Boaz who was eighth and Joel Kimurer came tenth.
